Recommend using teflon pastes on the threads, then electrical lock nut from the hardware store， to lock the filter into position, so it can't rattle or unscrew. You could tighten the filter super tight, but then you risk ruining the threads or breaking the aluminum cylinder head on your compressor, and thread locker isn't going to work good on the really high heat on the compressor. Using the lock nut will assure that you can use the nut as a jam nut, to maintain the filter tight, without risking damage to your compressor.
